Extending & Enriching

We learn constantly throughout our lives. Some of the most memorable learning experiences can take place outside of the classroom environment. Enjoyment enriches education, so we find we can enrich the learning experience of pupils both within and beyond the classroom by providing a diverse programme of opportunities for all.

We regularly provide Enrichment Days and have an Enrichment week where pupils participate in a broad range of educational visits and experiences. Trips and visits are essential in widening children’s experience and understanding of the world in which they live and are part of our vibrant curriculum offer. In addition, we provide support and catch up programmes, homework support, revision classes, academic mentoring, a rich range of lunchtime and after school clubs.
Sport is very popular at Hadleigh and there are countless opportunities for pupils to participate in an extensive range of sporting activities. Our excellent facilities, including our recently built all weather astro-turf pitch, are shared with our community.

Hadleigh has great strength in creative arts and music. Many of our pupils rehearse and perform to develop their confidence. We have a range of groups including choir, orchestra, soul band in addition to the many smaller ensembles and talented solo musicians. A wide variety of high quality concerts and recitals are performed and enjoyed every year.

Drama is similarly successful. We produce a number of productions every year ranging from musical theatre to Shakespeare and more contemporary showcases at professional venues. Regular excursions to London and local theatres are organised to enhance pupils’ experiences.

Our most able pupils have the opportunity to participate in the Extended Project Qualification which is valued by Sixth Form providers and Universities.  Subject areas available include: English, Maths, Science, Art and History.
